Saint Mary’s Band will be showcasing their talents on the Rothesay Common Stage on Thursday, August 20 at 7pm for the Concert in the Common. Take your evening walk, bring your blanket/chair, and enjoy free outdoor music.
Parking: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road
Rain Location: If the weather is inclement, the concert will be held at Wells Community Centre, 75 French Village Road, Rothesay.
About the Band: Saint Mary’s Band, formed in 1903, is New Brunswick’s oldest community concert band. Originally, the band was a youth outreach program of St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Saint Mary’s Band currently has a membership of 50 musicians made up of all ages. Band members enjoy getting together to rehearse each week and perform for Southern New Brunswick communities. Saint Mary’s Band is committed to PRESERVING the tradition of concert band music in the Greater Saint John region; PERFORMING for our community while providing opportunities for local musicians to share their talents; and PROMOTING concert band music in a 21st-century society. Saint Mary’s Band is a registered charitable organization.
Genre: Concert Band Music. Performing a variety of classical selections, contemporary compositions, some modern popular music, and concert marches.
