New Brunswick residents are facing higher fuel costs as the Energy and Utilities Board increased gas prices just before the Christmas holiday. Regular self-serve gasoline prices rose by 2.1 cents per litre, bringing the maximum price to approximately $1.59. Diesel prices increased by 4.5 cents, reaching around $1.80 per litre, while furnace oil prices rose by 4.1 cents to about $1.49 per litre. These increases are attributed to higher wholesale costs and are expected to impact consumers during the busy holiday travel period.
